When did the Into the Dead 2 come out? I cannot recall when the second Into the Dead came out, but I do remember playing it once on my iPhone. The first version of Into the Dead involved players controlling both the story-line and the zombie-like enemies. As you were handling these characters, they would attack you with some sort of weapon or move around you to attack you as well. The player could also perform a variety of different actions such as climbing over ledges, swimming through water, and many more.
Since I am not fond of zombie-themed games, I wasn’t sure how into the second Into the Dead sequel would be. Upon playing the demo, I found that it was more action based. Unlike the first game, you could not simply “turn off” the action. Instead, there were multiple endings depending on your actions while you played the game. For instance, if you helped the undead find a way back from the graveyard and killed a few zombies along the way, you could experience a multiple ending. If you didn’t kill anything and just stayed on the path, then the ending where the undead came back later on didn’t happen.
This added tension for me because I had to think about what I did every screen as I made my way through the game’s multiple levels. I had to think about how I was going to kill my enemies without taking my current weapons down too quickly, or if I needed to pick up new weapons or upgrades to my current arsenal. The combat in Into the Dead 2 was more intense than the first game, but still retained a nice blend of fun zombie action.
Weapons in Into the Dead 2 were very different than they were in the original. In the original game, you only had a shotgun and pistol, so you didn’t have much of a selection when it came to weaponry. However, I enjoyed how each weapon worked in Into the Dead 2. For example, there were chainsaws, knives, guns, and even bats that could be used to climb up walls to reach areas that zombies were still trapped in.
The graphics and audio were both top notch as well. Music that plays during zombie outbreaks was catchy and kept me awake at night. The zombies in the sequel titled Into the Dead 2 were also really cool looking. The improved graphics of the Nintendo Switch version are noticeable and can be quite impressive depending on what you’re used to.
Overall, this is a great video game. It had lots of action, and was replayable because of the ability to save your progress after you complete the main objective in each level. Although the story line doesn’t move too far in either the original Dead Island or the second installment of Into the Dead 2, it’s enough to keep you interested. There’s nothing better than a good story that makes you want to go back and finish it time again. If you like zombie games with lots of gun violence, then Into the Dead 2 is definitely for you.
